Facilities and Things to do

Two delightful, semi detached, stone built barn conversions, in a lovely rural setting on an 11 acre smallholding on the slopes of Howle Hill, which overlooks the beautiful Wye Valley. The barns have been lovingly converted to offer high quality accommodation with excellent contemporary fixtures and fittings, yet also retaining a cosy cottage atmosphere, including airy open plan living areas and crackling woodburners.

Both properties have their own delightful patios, ideal for relaxing and dining alfresco while enjoying the surrounding countryside. This is the perfect location for discovering the beautiful Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, with wonderful scenic walks, cycle trails and an abundance of wildlife. Visit the lovely towns of Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury, Monmouth and picturesque Symonds Yat. Two lovely cottages in a tranquil location, perfect for a romantic break at any time of the year.

We now have super-fast fibre optic broadband and you are welcome to log onto our hub to use the internet, which still isn’t 100% but is much better than previously.

You might have to stand on one leg in the middle of a field to get a signal for your mobile, depending on your provider.  You may feel slightly daft making a call, but not all is lost as it does amuse the neighbours.

Just a reminder to anyone contemplating a booking this year, the bedrooms in both cottages are accessed via a spiral staircase. If you have mobility difficulties or have, how can I put it…a fulsome profile, you may find them a little awkward as they are narrow. If in doubt let me know and I can email some photographs for you to look at.

We do have a gate for the top of the stairs available for families with toddlers, but please note that the ground floor is quarry tiled, so you may want to bring a small rug or blanket for playing on. We also have a high chair and cot available if needed, and at a push we can squeeze a small fold down bed into the bedroom.
